My unnecessary complaint about song titles

Given that according to iTunes

for her fifth album Rihanna said she wanted “songs that were all Rihanna songs, that nobody else could do”

… why call one of them ‘Raining Men’, which makes just about everyone think of either The Weather Girls or Geri Halliwell depending on your age.

… why call another ‘What’s My Name’, which just makes me think of the song sung by Bill Skyes in Oliver! (this one is less likely I admit, but the point stands).

Rihanna has form with unoriginal song titles too. ‘Take A Bow’ by Muse only came out about two years before ‘Take A Bow’ by Rihanna. It’s just confusing.
